Miss Clementine is looking for a room. To sing you her story.

Act Name:  Miss Clementine

Phone:  +31(0)6 460 229 39

E-mail:  clementine@cle.productions           or        info@clementine.fm

Category of Folk: Her voice is mostly compared with Joan BeazThe Carpenters (radio 2) and Eva Cassidy (by The Fureys, Dutch National Radiostations 2, 5 and her audience)

Location:  Island beneath Rotterdam in The Netherlands

Description:

Clementine prefers singing in English, but made an exception for the dutch song 'Na de Hoos' (= After the storm) written by friend and top-writer Guus Westdorp. Originally written for the flood in New Orleans after Katrina. Raising 1000'ds of dollars during a benefit concert for the victims. Later performed at the official national memorial for the Dutch flood of 1953 for the dutch president, politicians and survivors. This event was broadcasted by (inter)national media including primetime news.

(Na de Hoos at the memorial and in theatre) Guus's mother helped dutch refugees communicating over the radio in '53 and Clementine's father was specialized in dredging, helped to build the dam after the storm as a teenager.

In 2003 she released her first album (mastered by grammy winner Brad Blackwood and joined recordlabel Coast to Coast.) This album was embraced by radio 5 and nominated/won the title World Album by radio 2.

She toured dutch theatres from small rooms of 80 seats upto big concerthalls of 750 seats and decided to study a few elemental courses online with Berklee to gain more understanding of songwriting and production.

She writes her own songs, but also likes to collaborate with others like Daithi Rua (worked with the Fureys/Clannad/Moya Brennan etc) and Guus Westdorp who wrote several top-1 hits of A-artists in the Netherlands.

Her official musicians are guitarist Philip Masure and fiddle/mandoline player Siard de Jong. Who are NOT attending this years FAI. But Clementine is bookable as a trio with them:

Philip (Belgium) specialized in DADGAD open tuning, and is often referred to as “the king of DADGAD”.
He gave many guitar workshops all over the world, and has toured with a lot of musicians/bands including Urban Trad (2nd in the Eurovision Song contest in 2003), Micha Marah, Comas, Laïs, Fling, Eamar Quinn, Orion, Floes, Kathleen Keane, Sylvain Barou, Hot Spoons, Andar, David Munnelly...
As a studio musician Philip plays on at least 100 cd’s, but also works a lot as producer. He has worked together with many well known musicians from Belgium and abroad.

Odense Folk (DK) :                 'You have to hear this superb guitarist from Belgium, since he is one of the best in Europe'
nvFolk (BE) :  ‘guitar prodigy and specialist of open tuning’
The Irish Post (IRL) :              ‘one of the most sought-after guitarists on the scene’
The Irish Post (UK) :               ‘the mastery of Philip Masure on guitar is evident’
The Living Tradition (UK) :  ‘should be on the must-see-live list’
De Standaard (BE) :  ‘virtuosity ! It asks for more’
Une Autre Chanson (FR) :  ‘a harmony and personality as with the likes of Pierre Bensusan, Soig Siberilor Jean-Paul Albert’

Siard de Jong (The Netherlands) playes the fiddle, viola, mandoline, bouzouki, (low) whistles and soprano sax. He has played with Mike Hanrahan, Ronnie Drew, Sonny Condell, Keith Donald, Finbar Furey, Francie Conway, Sean Harkness, Chris Jones, Danny Guinan, Ailbe Grace, Kieran Fahy, Benny Jolink, Fling and recorded a couple albums with Within Temptation.
