Ayleen O'Hanlon (AUS) solo or duo with Tim Easton (US) 0 A. O'Hanlon   Contact: Phone: +61430101521  ** Unsigned Melbourne singer-songwriter, guitarist and clawhammer banjo player. Available solo or duo.  About Ayleen  Since the independent release of her debut album in 2015, Ayleen O’Hanlon, has been steadily building a name at home as a captivating live performer with a distinctive voice that ropes you in and pulls you under. The album ‘Blend and Spill’ displayed a confidence and candour rarely seen on an alt-folk country debut, and took her on to perform at major folk festivals around the country and later led to an invitation to play in Aussie folk rock veteran, Mick Thomas' (Weddings Parties Anything), band. Outside Australia, you may well know her as the girl with the cat on her guitar - a viral video with 1.7 million views which has earned her an international presence, with fans from Beijing to Texas to Rio De Janeiro.  Carried by skilled picking on the guitar and banjo, and with a sound inspired from folk, country and blues traditions, O’Hanlon's honest songwriting details small town stories, downtrodden hearts, and dusty characters.  O'Hanlon is unsigned and on seeking a US booking agent, festival appearances, and management to promote her next album.  About the duo:  In October 2017, O'Hanlon met and collaborated with Nashville troubadour, Tim Easton, while he was touring Australia. Ayleen will be available to play duo with Tim at private showcases.  **

MONICA RIZZIO - Washashore Cowgirl 0 M. Rizzio   Contact Info Phone: 646.942.7382 Email: Category of Folk: Singer/Songwriter, Americana, Outlaw Location: Texas via Cape Cod, MA   About Monica Rizzio: No stranger to the east coast music scene, Texas-bred and Cape Cod washashore, Monica Rizzio is emerging as one of the finest singer songwriters that call New England home. For over 10 years she played fiddle and sang with Tripping Lily, a folk acoustic pop band, who toured up and down the east coast. In 2012, Monica left the band to rejuvenate her passion for music and began writing to help cope with the loss of the band and love. At FreshGrass, the following year, while perusing the vendors Rizzio found a 1956 Martin 0-18 guitar that would change her life and her song. She calls it the “moment I found Jesus again.” Drawing on her East Texas roots, Monica and her Martin, brought back the the little girl who loved to barrel race on her horse Bo, and she found her outlaw country sound deep within the folk world. Her debut album, aptly named, Washashore Cowgirl, is completely autobiographical, often times delivered in a fictional approach, sometimes with humor, and sometimes so strikingly honest you can feel the pain in her voice. The album is a testament to the relationships she has forged with many artists over the years and features Mark Erelli, Sierra Hull, Abbie Gardner & Molly Venter of Red Molly, G. Love, Tim Chaisson, Brittany Haas, and Laney Jones. Last December, Monica shared the stage with Tom Rush and Red Molly at his annual show at Symphony Hall in Boston and has supported Diana Krall, Slaid Cleaves, Hunter Hayes and Joan Osborne.   Monica Rizzio is based in Cape Cod and tours nationally.  more info:

Jeff Brown seeking showcase spots 0 J. Brown Contact Info Phone:773-507-4718 Email: Category of Folk:Indie Folk Location:Chicago About Me Sometimes a sensitive singer-songwriter singing about girls and feelings. Sometimes a turbulent rock force. Sometimes both.   Chicago singer-songwriter Jeff Brown grew up with his ears fixed on the musical intricacies of Iron Maiden records, but over the years has chosen to explore a softer side of music. These days, he creates songs rooted in the gentle musings of contemplative trailblazers like Carole King and James Taylor with modern touches similar to Damien Rice and Iron & Wine.  He cites his musical influences as, "Girls and alcohol, mostly," and uses passion, a sense of humor, and a comforting stage presence to bring to life love songs for people that are sick of the same old love songs.  He tours regionally, nationally, and internationally, having most recently returned from a month-long tour of Iceland, England, Ireland, and Scotland. He'd love to be a part of your private showcase! Check out his website for more information.

Nicholas Penn - book me :) 0 N. Pennington   Contact Email: Phone:  502-542-0698 Category of Folk:  Progressive Folk Location:  Lexington, KY Website:     Nicholas Penn is a progressive folk musician from Lexington, KY.  Born in Mexico to Baptist missionaries, and studying music and social movements, Penn is a musician on a mission.  His current focus is finding synergy between music, the health food movement, and yoga.  “Ill EAGLE” EP debuted April, 2017 with excellent local reviews.  Penn plans to take his show on the road in 2018.   “Nicholas Penn is captivatingly modest. His music marries quietly masterful guitar playing with wistful narratives that question the state of our interior and exterior worlds — all the while remaining wryly hopeful. His music is disarming… and that’s not an accident. He’d like to see less fighting and more love in the world. His confident music inspires a shred of hope that things could turn out that way.” Mick Jeffries, WRFL - Trivial Thursdays   Penn’s live performances are filled with the masterful accompaniment of Cellist Seth Murphy.  As a duo they create a rich full sound that shimmers with the beauty of acoustic instruments and grooves with the syncopations of Pop, Reggae, and Chillwave.  The two musicians collaborate to deliver a vast range of dynamic volumes, rhythms, and tones, that gives each song a different vibe and takes the audience on a different journey each time.  Penn has recently added a kick drum and tambourine to his repertoire to give the live performance an undeniably modern groove that bridges the gap between Folk, Pop, and Chillwave.

Rod Abernethy 0 R. Abernethy Rod Abernethy  Contact Info: Phone: 919-607-1133 Email: Category of Folk: performing songwriter - southern folk troubadour Location: Raleigh, NC BIO Rod Abernethy, a master acoustic guitarist and authentic southern folk troubadour, has been performing for over three decades. His original songs revolve around family, friends and places across his home state of North Carolina. Rod’s guitar instrumentals evoke styles of his favorite guitar players like Leo Kottke, Michael Hedges and Chet Atkins. He also performs songs from some of his favorite singers including Steve Earle, Tom Waits, Nick Drake and Bob Dylan. Rod has a strong history in the southern rock music scene, and is reaching back to his days as a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter in well-known North Carolina bands including Arrogance, Glass Moon, Rod Dash, The Slackmates and Sixteen Tons.  Rod is currently working with legendary producer Don Dixon (REM, The Smithereens, Marti Jones, Gin Blossoms) on his newest album which is due for release in early 2018. For more music videos: EPK:   "Rod is a true student of music, gracefully performing songs with a sincere humbleness that one can't help but relate to. His mastery of the 6 and 12 string guitars was a real treat to watch, and we look forward to his next performance in the hall!"            Bill Heath  owner/operator            Muddy Creek Music Hall            Winston Salem, NC      "Imagine what would happen if you musically crossed the iconic guitar chops of Leo Kottke and John Fahey with the prophetic and immensely appealing songs of Bob Dylan and Tom Waits. Rod fits that bill. While consistently putting his very unique artistry out there, one can hear distinct echoes of these truly significant artistic forces. To my ears, Rod joins that group in very rare air, all of whom have kept meaning in melodies and a kind of prescient skill in lyrics. If you have a chance to see and hear Rod Abernethy live, don't miss it."            Bob Hinkle  owner/manager            The White Horse Black Mountain "Rod put on an awesome set for us. He’s a true artist on stage and a great guy to work with. Several patrons came up to me at the break to tell me how much they enjoyed his performance. He’s the real deal."             David E. Sardinha             Six String Presents               The Cary Theater, Cary, NC     "There are many excellent acoustic guitar players, and for anyone who loves acoustic guitar, it is one of life’s joys to hear them play. You would not, however, mention them in the same paragraph as Leo Kottke, or Norman Blake, or John Fahey. You would mention Rod though. Rod’s playing is transcendent, beyond technique, utterly superb. It is an extraordinary thing to hear him play. His performances attact not only music lovers but other guitar players, and no one in the audience has a chance to hear anything like that anywhere else. We look at each other and shake our heads.  You'll see."               Michael Thompson- acclaimed speaker, author and workshop presenter              Durham, NC

The Fremonts 0 J. Badger The Fremonts Contact Info Phone: 917-375-7349 Email: Category of Folk: Americana Location: Boulder, CO BIO Born in New York City and raised in Boulder, Colorado, The Fremonts weave Midwestern ghost stories into restless Americana music. Stephanie Dodd (originally from Fremont, Nebraska - vocals/keyboard/xylophone/accordion) and Justin Badger (originally from Fremont, California - vocals/guitar/kick drum) lace their sound with bluegrass, country, blues, folk and indie pop influences. By blending Dodd’s lyrical voice and Badger’s turbulent style, they take on a range of topics from sprawling tales of escape and ambition to quiet disenchantment with traditional roles in American family life. In their three years of creating music together, The Fremonts have unearthed fresh authenticity in their writing and performances through dedicated practice and community building. “'How do we get to the light, to the beauty and calm we see on the horizon? How do we tame the chaos of our hearts?'  The Fremonts’ answer is to work your ass off to make your own place, and that’s exactly what they have done. They stake a claim, and they’re not giving it up." -Libby Emmons, Spill Magazine "The Fremonts are a Boulder-based band that know how to combine pretty and gruff in all the best ways. Dodd (vocals/keyboard/xylophone) has a gentle, soothing voice that guides you along their lyrical stories. And Badger (vocals/guitar/suitcase kick drum) brings in strong, turbulent tones. It’s a perfect fit." -Hannah Oreskovich, The Fremonts would be thrilled to perform at your private showcase. Please check out our EPK at the link below for more information and feel free to contact us! EPK

Steve and Kristi Nebel 0 Icebird Record Company We are an Americana duo from Tacoma, WA. We would love to be considered for your PGS showcase at FAI. Thanks, Steve Nebel “You are both articulate and accomplished as voices of conscience and your discipline is evident. There is honesty and precision to your performance and this is what reaches people--to be elevated in a way that can't be written off to entertainment alone.” Lucas Smiraldo, Tacoma Poet Laureate 2013-14 Steve and Kristi Nebel (pron. knee bull) bring passion, finesse, and beauty to their audiences with their songs of social justice, knife edge observations, stories they have picked up in their travels, and pure, simple love. They have traveled extensively having done 9 tours in UK folk clubs and festivals and toured the Midwest, and east coast. They have recorded more than 10 CDs, mostly of their own songs. Kristi’s solo CD, for which she was nominated “western swing female performer of the year” in 2014 is a combination of traditional western swing and Steve’s Americana songs. The Nebel’s style is informed by a wealth of experience playing their instruments and lending their voices to the other for a blend that exceeds the sum of 2 parts. “Birds of Winter” “The Fisherman Hardly Ever Sleeps” “Wish You Were Here Waltz” “Angels of the Road”
